Ten long reads worth keeping. The volume is above. This shelf is the library.
- Deep Sleep On 15 October 2026 Roni Size played a timber booth 1,375 feet under a Welsh slate mine. The world-record claim went out as a submission.
- Signals From the Heart of the Rave Rupture turns twenty with a book written by the people on its floor, and a love letter to the South London arches it called home for eighteen years.
- Last Issue The Skinny spent two decades writing down Scotland's nights out. Now it is gone, and one zine has to ask another's question: who keeps the record?
- Romford Kept the Receipts Mega Mega opens in a soon-to-close South Street club, and it brings Boogie Times, Suburban Base and a decade of Essex white labels back under one roof.
- Crystal Tears on the Westside Six years after Chilombo, Jhené Aiko finishes Westside Whimsy the way she started: mixtape stubbornness, Fisticuffs in the booth, and a love letter to a coast that burned.
- Still Looking for the Warehouse In Pursuit of Repetitive Beats puts a visitor in a car, a service station, and a 1989 acid-house chase at Sensoria in Sheffield.
- Radial Wants the Midsize Room Tottenham’s new 250-cap listening club opens out of Ten87 Studios with a Whitaker-tuned Martin Audio/Funktion-One rig, a no-phones floor, and an opening weekend that stacks jungle, UK bass, house and garage. The gossip is the sound. The story is the room.
- The Missing P Sebadoh's Harmacy turns thirty on November 20 with sixteen extra tracks and a zine drawn by Lou Barlow, who has called the record a heartbreaker. A band that began on home-made cassettes got a Sub Pop budget, a studio and, by Barlow's account, a drummer problem. What is an album worth to the person who made it?
- They Settled It at Afterhours Madonna clapped back at Charli xcx’s dead-dancefloor line. Then they wrote the afters together.
- Party Like the Lease Is Ending Cobalt came back as punk, metal, hardcore, then a dance floor till two, with a hotel clock in the coverage and a fire that was only a blip.
