What I Want
MUNA put out the record: silk chiffon, a gay bar, and a chorus that doesn’t whisper.
“What I Want” is the floor that actually asks. MUNA is out on Phoebe’s Saddest Factory, three women making synth-pop that remembers the 80s without hiring a man to produce the memory. “Silk Chiffon” taught the timeline the pastel. This album is the night after: “Kind of Girl,” “Anything But Me.”
They left the major and they kept the chorus. In this province it’s a kitchen with a cheap disco bulb and everybody’s ex in the other room.
