Riscape: Heads Down

John Rigas records as Riscape, from Athens. The piano is the part of the biography that is easy to treat as decoration, and harder to skip once you read his own account. On his SoundCloud page he says he trained at Chalandri’s National Conservatory, took first prize at the XON Panhellenic Piano Competition in 2007, and turned toward electronic music after a Martin Garrix show at Paradise Club in Mykonos in 2015. The production schools come after that: SAE Athens in 2016, with the Greek DJ Sparky T, and Grey Studios in 2017, with the Armada producer HitTheBass. The first record under the Riscape name, on that same account, was Persistence (Not Giving Up), in 2020.

The Dutch chapter is on Beatport as well as in the bio. The Groove Is Coming, the extended mix, is on Mystery Freedom Network, filed as house at 126, released 20 August 2021. Can’t Resist You followed on the same label that December. Two X S, dated 5 January 2024, catalogue MFN121B, is two house tracks, Solar and Spiral, both at 125. Feelings, with Ruben de Jongh, came on Mystery Freedom that May. The same tracker lists work away from that label: River on LVLD in July 2024, Everything (Don’t You Wish) on Ensis that December, Neverever on Sirup Music in January 2025, Spark on Play Records in February 2026. Read as a list, it is a working house schedule.

His SoundCloud bio says that in 2026 a remix of Synth Magic, for Alphed Le Cornett and JARR Head, reached number one on Beatport’s Trance (Main Floor) Top 100 New Releases. The ranking is his sentence. What a shop listing confirms is the release. Music Worx carries EML Recordings’ Synth Magic package, out 24 July 2026, and the Riscape remix is on it, filed as trance and listed at 128, slower than the other mixes in the bundle. A house tempo on a trance package is a noticeable decision from someone who had been putting out records at 125 and 126.

The two Club Copy EPs are on his Bandcamp, which places him in Athens and calls the music house from the Mediterranean underground. You Are (Love) is dated 18 September 2026: You Are (Love), Make It Right, Action, Days Like This. The note on the page is his. “I wanted to make something vintage but contemporary. To bring the groove back and create a piece of art that is colorful and also respectful, by paying homage to the classic house structures and sounds of our time.” Under the note the credit splits the name. Written by Ioannis Rigas. Produced by Riscape, for Club Copy and Copy House Publishing. The legal name writes. The club name produces. Tell Me followed on 10 October 2026: My Whole Life, Tell Me Something, Tell Me Nothing, tagged house, progressive house, and tech house.

Those titles talk like a person in a room. A whole life. Tell me something. Tell me nothing. Days like this. He also hosts Riscape Reality Radio, which the bio describes as his own records played beside other people’s. Between the conservatory prize, the Dutch singles, the trance remix, and the two EPs, the work is one musician who learned an instrument on a graded course and then learned a dancefloor, and who still puts his birth name on the writing line.
