White vinyl on black with melting Club Copy lettering. any jungle

any jungle

L.T. Drifta, nine minutes. I played it twice before I looked at a clock.

Nine minutes, and it never hurries you. That’s rarer than a new break, and I say that as someone who has waited through a lot of new breaks.

L.T. Drifta’s any jungle is one long exhale with teeth in it: white vinyl on black, Club Copy lettering melting like it sat too close to the speaker. Jungle, but not the kind that treats you like a tempo problem. The drums arrive, they stay, they let you keep your coat on. I played it twice before I looked at a clock. The second time I was doing my lashes, which is not when I thought I’d be living with a nine-minute jungle record, and it was perfect.

If you’ve only heard him in shorter hits, this is the one that shows the room. Put it on when the house is empty enough that you can turn it up without performing for anyone. The break will still be there when you come back from the kitchen. I keep meaning to put something else on. I don’t.
