Ibiza’s last week gave three DJs a room until morning and gave everyone else a poster.

The bills had been public since August, when Hï and Ushuaïa posted their closing lineups. What 6 to 11 October put on the doors was two kinds of night at once. Tuesday at Hï, East End Dubs closed the first season of Eastenderz in the Theatre and Paco Osuna closed the Club Room. In the Wild Corner, the smallest room, Manda Moor played all night, start to finish, with nobody booked to follow her.

Wednesday, Mau P closed Baddest Behaviour at Pacha the same way: all night, no second headliner, under the cherries. Jamie Jones closed Paradise the same night, after a second season at [UNVRS], with Adam Ten, Mason Maynard, SOSA and Manda Moor, who was back a night after she had already played until morning. Downstairs at Paradise, the Bunker went to Hot Creations. Two closings on one island, and only one of them was a single DJ given the clock.

Thursday makes the split inside a single building. Upstairs at [UNVRS], Indira Paganotto presented ARTCORE with I Hate Models, Kobosil, AZYR and Anna Unusyan. Two nights earlier the DJ Mag Top 100, a public vote, had put her at 26 and given her its first prize for psychedelic music. I Hate Models had just fallen out of the hundred. Downstairs, Beatport Live gave the Bunker to Sirus Hood from open to close. Five names had the main room, and one DJ had the room under it.

Friday is when the single name gives the room back. Hï’s Theatre went to Black Coffee, the Martinez Brothers, Paco Osuna and Delilah. The Club Room went to Skepta’s Más Tiempo, a crew rather than one person. The Wild Corner, which Moor had held alone three nights before, went to a full bill. In the room that had crowned him on Tuesday, Guetta closed Galactic Circus. Across the island, Glitterbox closed at Amnesia with Masters at Work, Dimitri from Paris, HoneyLuv and Jorja Smith live. Friday is the night the clock gets a committee.

Saturday, Ushuaïa gave its last party to ANTS and built eleven hours out of seven back-to-backs, pairs of DJs sharing the decks, so the unit of the marathon is two people. DJ Mag had published that shape in August. Amnesia billed the same Saturday as a 50th year, the club having opened in 1976, and ran from the afternoon into Sunday. Joseph Capriati played at sunset, then back to back on the Terrace with Josh Baker, the poll’s highest new entry five days earlier, in at 40. The main room went to Klangkuenstler, Nina Kraviz, Deborah De Luca and Future666. De Luca had dropped 21 places, from 60 to 81, and had the big room anyway. Sunday, Destino Five closed Music On in the open air, Luciano among the names after his outstanding-contribution prize on Tuesday. Pacha finished with PAWSA and Miguelle & Tons. O Beach shut its season.

The gossip sits in those three rooms. Moor had the Wild Corner on Tuesday and a featured slot on Wednesday, because an all-nighter buys the next day and then takes the solitude back. Hood had the Bunker while five names played techno above him. Mau P had Pacha to himself, and the poll moved him up 22 places to 55, sharing the climber’s medal with John Summit and Chris Stassy. The medal is for the size of the jump, not for finishing level. Posters had promised scale since August. The all-night rooms had to be played in one sitting.
